Before I make my way over to Russia, I usually do a big book haul as it is quite difficult to find English books there. I know it would be SO much easier if I switched to the kindle life, but there’s just something about physically holding a book and feeling the pages that I oh so love.

I grabbed this book and added it to my cart on a whim. My hopes for it weren’t too high, but I couldn’t deny all the praise it was getting. Thank G*d I bought it ! I absolutely adored this book. Firstly, the chapters are extremely short. Usually about 3-4 pages long, which I happen to really like. I find that more often than not, books with short chapters are such page turners! It makes it even harder to put down because after finishing a chapter, you think to yourself - “Oh, its just a few more pages, I’ll read one more chapter before I close it … 1 hour later …” . WHOOPSIE.

Next, the style of writing is so easy to follow, but extremely vivid and descriptive. I couldn’t help but “WOW” and “Oh my G*d” and “UGH” out loud. The hubby kept turning to me and going - “WHAT WHAT!”. Read the book babe, and you’ll find out. Side note: he’s reading it next.

From The Ashes, is such a hauntingly beautiful memoir that takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions. From awe, to heartbreak, and inevitable triumph. - you’ll love every stage. Jesse Thistle is a true story teller. At times I would force myself to put the book down because I just didn’t want to be even closer to it ending. I NEEDED MORE!

When you stumble on books like these, you can’t help but recommend them. So that is exactly what I’m doing. Pick up this book, and enjoy every moment of it. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts.

Happy reading beautiful people!
