Genre: Fiction, Romance Novel

Normally after I finish reading a book, I go on my laptop shortly after and begin writing my review on it. For this read I needed more time. Much like how I felt after reading a few of its chapters, I needed to sit and digest. Honestly, I am still a little unsure of how I feel about this book. There are chapters I thoroughly enjoyed, ones that really resonated with me and allowed me to say “so it’s not just me?”. But then there were chapters that I found unnecessary and difficult to connect to. Perhaps I’ll begin by giving you a little synopsis of this novel.

This fiction novel follows the male narrators journey through love with a female he met on a plane. It is an introspective examination of - boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl, boy’s heart gets broken by girl. Entwined with psychological notes, this love story has clever moments which sometimes feel like a far jump from the generally comedic and blunt narrative.

Moral of the story - as I continue writing this, I’ve come to the conclusion that this wouldn’t be a book I would recommend to someone … or in this case, you all. After a weeks time, not much of what I had read has stuck with me.

So there it is, my first review of a book I would not recommend. For those who have read this and enjoyed it, well … to each their own. My fingers are crossed the next one I read will be a hit! Oh and not to toot my own horn … I did mention in my previous review that it was inevitable the next book I read would not be great. Looks like I was right cough cough.
